I began taking photographs as a boy, with the idea of preserving memories of my summer vacation trips. Over time, I realized that in the photos I had printed upon my return, it wasn’t the monuments or landscapes that had most caught my eye, but rather the people I had encountered along the way. In my images, I instinctively sought out gestures, expressions, and fragments of daily life that, to me, took on a unique character.
For this reason, I now define myself more as a street portraitist than a photographer. I am interested in observing and chronicling human beings within their environment, capturing those authentic moments that often go unnoticed. I found a perfect definition for this approach in a line that particularly struck me—an image that reflects my way of viewing both photography and life:
All the world’s indeed a stage
And we are living players, performers and portrayers

Through the Umani Urbani (Urban Humans) project, I portray the city as a vast, open-air stage, where every individual becomes the protagonist of their own story. My goal is to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, capturing in a single image those moments when everyday life reveals its full beauty, strength, and humanity.
